En ny æra for polarforskning
Under Det internasjonale polaråret skal det gjennomføres forskning som ingen enkelt nasjon vil kunne finansiere eller utføre alene. Innsatsen fra minst 50.000 forskere og teknikere fra vel 60 land gjør Polaråret 2007-2008 til det største internasjonale forskningsprogrammet noensinne. Norge og norske forskere vil komme til å yte vesentlige bidrag.
